How do I set my ace to save messages to my SD card instead of on the phone memory?
 
Hi and welcome!

I downloaded the app "SMS backup and restore" from the Play Store. It saves the on the SD card, then you can delete them from the phone's internal memory. I am sure there are other apps the work similarly.
