Help Message app

I downloaded Handcent and I don't want messages coming into both. Is there away that I can stop messages coming in to both. I only want to use Handcent. What do I need to do to stop messages into the regular messages?

I have a t-mobile MyTouch 4G

You wouldn't actually stop the messages going in to the other app. You could turn off notifications for the other app... usually, you should be able to go in to the app you don't want notifications from and press menu... from there, you should be able to find an option for turning off notifications somewhere
