Message icon on lockscreen

On my old s3 when I used to get a text message I could swipe the message icon to read the text on the lockscreen , I can't seem to be able to do that with my s5,does anyone know a way?

I think you touch it (the lock screen message) & pull down to open it. Then tap or double tap it to open it on the phone.
