Is there a good message widget that shows multiple unread messages in a simple widget?

I've looked at multiple e-mail and SMS widgets and can't seem to find anything. Am I missing something obvious?

For my Motorola Defy, it comes with something like that. I guess these are freebies different manufacturers thrown in on top of the Android provided default.

Pure Messenger Widget, not free but it's well worth it- you can have multiple Pure widgets for Twitter, Facebook, email, SMS, missed calls, etc. or combine a few of those like Twitter/Facebook into one widget and SMS into another- which is what I do.

My Atrix came with a simple e-mail widget, but it only shows the most recent message, not a list of x number of messages. It also does not show how many are outstanding. The part I like the least is that it burns screen real-estate with a photo of the person who sent the message. All in all, a poor widget from Moto
