Messages App keeps quitting when replying

Hi. Today (26 May 2018), I installed an update to the Android system on my Galaxy s7 phone. Since then, when I reply to a text message, the Messages app keeps quitting. This happens after I have selected just a few words (to insert automatically into my reply) from the predictive text options on the top line above the keyboard. So far, this only happens when replying (seemingly, not when I am typing out a text message that is not a reply to one received — at least, it has not happened so far).
Has anyone else had this problem. If so, how long might it be before Android fixes it?
Thanks in advance, for any replies.

Try restarting our phone sometimes help with minor glitches. Give a reply if that works and if it doesn't we'll look for other options to fix that issue.

I restarted, but it was just the same (in fact, it seemed a bit worse, in that the quitting happened sooner than before). It seems to be caused by clicking on a chosen word, to enter it in the message.

I did a hard "re-set" (a factory reset) to the phone, and, after starting up etc., the problem was cured. This is just so that you know. Thanks to all, for the replies.
