Messages pin to top in message app

Hello, I recently traded in my Galaxy Note 7 for a Galaxy S7 Edge.
My question is in regards to the software functionality difference in the messages app. The Note 7 allowed me to pin messages to the top of the app so that the messages that I want to stay on top are in front of me and on top every time that I open the messages app. it was done using a small thumb tack looking pin that could be selected on each message. if you selected the pin it would move the message to the top of the messages and would stay there until I remove the pin.
I do not find this functionality in my messages app on my new s7 edge. this was a great feature and works well. does this need to be turned on somehow in settings on the S7 edge?
or just not available in the software available for this phone!

Thanks for your input and any inside would be appreciated

I also switched from the Note 7 to S7edge, however, I never used the feature you are asking about on the Note 7. I do not see this option on the S7edge. So, really, I was no help, sorry, but welcome to the board.o_O

Have you ever found a way to do it I also used that so much because I'm in business and it helped so much. Samsung really screwed me on my Note 7. They gave me a lesser-quality phone in this S7 with so many things that are different especially that pinning my messages to the top that was so useful I've tried everything can't seem to get it back :-(

Was this Message Application you are speaking of the default message application; what carrier are you on?

I'm sure you've figured it out by now but all you have to do is click and hold on one of your text messages(it can be anyone like you're going to delete the text messages). As if you're going to delete multiple threads. Then in the top right corner it'll say delete and pin. I've attached a photo.
