Messaging app shows date, not time of old messages.

I received some messages from a client the other day but needed to know what time they were sent. I've noticed that messages on the current day show the time but after that the time is removed and just the date remains.

Does anyone know of a work around to this? Failing a work around I may try and modify the stock app myself and see what I can come up with.

Perhaps you could find a 3rd party sms app that displays that data automatically. I know for a fact that chompsms uses the same method as the stock app but I can't remember about handcent.
Might be worth checking that out or browsing for something alike in the market.

Thanks for the suggestion, I already have a custom MMS apk on my N1 so I don't want any other messaging app. I've tried handcent and chompsms but find them to just be over complicated for what it is.

If I modify the apk I'm using to successfully display the time and date I'll post it here for others to use if they want.

For reference my custom message APK is just to allow me to do MMS on o2 as it sets my user-agent as an iPhone.
