Messaging has stopped

I am using XOLO Q 800 mobile. Whenver i use message sending option, i get the message
"unfortunately messaging has stopped". how to fix the issue.
 
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
Find Messaging in there; it may have some unrelated generic name, you may have to google it for your model. Once you find it, clear its data and cache. Hopefully that will fix it.

Alternatively, try a different messaging app. People seem to like Handcent and Go SMS, among others.
