Messenger App Has No Inactive Toggle

Zen1982

I have an LG Aristo and the latest version of the Messenger app installed. The inactive/active or not toggle switch is nowhere to be found! I uninstalled, reinstalled and cleared the cache. I would like to be able to not be seen on Messenger all the time and as of three days ago before I updated it, the active toggle existed. Help?

You could try to just use the 'Disable' button in your Settings >> Apps >> Messenger menu but note that this is just turning off the app on your phone. As far as anyone who is texting you is concerned though, they aren't aware that you've turned off the app on your phone, so they'll just think you're ignoring them. Depending on who your carrier is (since your texting I.D. is tied to your phone number), you might be able to toggle your texting on/off through a setting accessed through your online account. (Anecdotally my carrier, Ting, includes this feature.)

Thank you, I appreciate it. Would like to figure the deal with the app and have the toggle back. Messenger lite has it but I'd like to keep using the full version. Wonder what the deal is.
