Just recently (I think--the last photo I received was in July) the default Moto-E SMS app Messaging, as well as my default SMS app Google Messenger, cannot send or receive photos. Messenger refuses to send or download the images, while Messaging crashes and says that "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped" when I try to send them.
Google Hangouts can both send and receive them, and I installed a new app, Textra, and found it could send and receive them too. Only my favorites are having this problem. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Messenger (you can't uninstall Messaging) and cleared both their caches, as well as restarting the phone, but it hasn't had any effect.
To be clear: I don't think MMS is the problem. Not only can Textra send and receive photos without any problem, but I can start a group text with Messenger (which is MMS) with no errors. I also have other people on the same T-Mobile plan as mine that aren't having any problems, and who are the ones sending the pictures that I can't receive.
