Anyone else hear about Metro PCS getting the Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE superphone? Samsung needs to make some cash after losing to Apple I guess... Anyone else jumping ship? I was going to dump my Triumph and get the EVO V, but that is last year's tech. No mention of VM getting these though. If VM did, I would definitely stick with them as the service has been top notch. I will miss my o/c'd Triumph on CM7 but the Galaxy S3 w/ICS or Jellybean... well no comparison...

Would LOVE to get an S3- have they listed a price yet? I'm worried it will be insane, or at least as much as the iPhone 4s on VM. Is MetroPCS on the Sprint network? If I was going to invest in an S3, I'd almost rather get a use one on Tmobile and have more stable data & roaming...still, something to consider.
I still think the way to go is buy a unlocked Galaxy Nexus from Google and move to T-Mobile or Straight Talk (or even AT&T Go). You have the advantage of being able to switch carriers easily and a phone that will continue to get Android updates direct from Google. While the Nexus isn't quite as nice as an S3, it actually does compare well and is over $200 less -- and again will get Android updates.

I dig the GNex, but I wish it would have come with a 8MP camera instead of the 5. Also, the lack of removable storage kind of bothers me. The main thing I don't like about it is the size though- if you're going to make a phone that large, more of it should be screen! It is roughly the same size as the S3 but with noticeably less screen real estate, and while I like the idea of the on-screen buttons, they do suck up more of the screen space. Now, would I take a GNex over my MT? Ummm...let me think...yes!

if they improve their network where i live i will consider it.my area is only using 1/5 of the spectrum as nyc.for now i will just be happy with my little $99 dollar pocket rocket.
I haven't seen the price but I'm sure it's going to be premium high! I might just get one on Verizon depending on the price but I really really hate contracts and all the bs that comes with it... Ughhh 2 year contracts... locked in... ughhh.. nickle and diming... I guess we'll see. But even with Verizon or ATT, this phone is still going to cost $200 bux @ roughly double the price per month...

I would, but the Gnex just doesn't make my needs. My minimum is expandable memory, dual core processor, 8mp camera and 4+ inch screen.
I think I'm gonna go to the S3 or note.

How is this for an idea...My dream phone is an HTC EVO 4G. I used to have tracphone when i was younger and MAN did I get service ANYWHERE. But the plans sucked....and the phones suck even worse lol I heard StraightTalk is a division under tracphone, and if that is true I would LOVE to jump. Would it be worth it to get a cheap EVO and put straight talk on it?
Virgin Mobile phones will not work on StraightTalk. You would need to find an unlocked GSM phone (StraightTalk data is through either AT&T or T-Mobile, depending on area you may have a choice). While not necessarily cheap, the Galaxy Nexus ($350 through Google) is a great option that works on both AT&T and T-Mobile (as well as most international) networks.
