I'm cheap so I opt for no insurance. I have yet to be convinced that it is worth the cost over time vs risk (and technically at this point I am self insured by the money I've saved).
Debatable, you pay $6 or 7 bucks a month for a for 1.5 years phone decides to quit so you have shelled out 84 bucks using the $7 a month plus your deductible lets say $60. So thats $186 to get a refurbished possibly old model. With the incentives that Metro has very often, you could get a shiny brand new newer model phone for less or similar money, so I can see why many don't or on the fence regarding insurance.
Not responding to you directly, I'm speaking facts on how the insurance works in general and its cost, most people do not have a one time charge of $45. They have a deductible if something happens and a monthly fee every month for phone insurance.....Huh ? If you are responding to my post: No, it's a $45 one time charge for two years coverage.
