Metro PCS and T-Mobile question...

Say all the hype is true and Metro and T-Mobile merge, would Metro lose out on Sprint's and VZW's roaming deals? If so, that would mean less coverage for us, but yet we would have faster 3G/4G because of T-Mobile's towers? Right? Or am I just plain wrong?
