Metro Pcs Cell Phone Buying/Selling

I am new here so if this is in the wrong place please let me know.

Alright my family has been using MetroPcs service ever since it first came out to the public. Now it's great and all but i didn't really see the big deal. Now years later i found out that i can buy sell phones from there website without getting some kind of service. Which clicked an idea in my mind why not buy and sell these phones. And i did and just to make sure i wanted to know if this is illegal i went to my nearest metro pcs store and asked the guy and he said it could get me in prison for 5 years.

Now i wanted to know if this is true since i think he was trying to scare me away from making a huge profit. Please if any one has any type of info on this subject please let me know.

I don't think there is any thing illegal about it but in order to make a profit you would have to sell the phones for more than the online price. So why would anyone buy from you when you would be able to geta lower price online?

they have really cheap prices on phones. I don't think i will be able to get that much info on this subject any where online. Thanks for the help.

Its not illegal since your buying the phone outright your free to do what you wish with them. The metro guy was an idiot. But keep in mind if ordering from the metro website to get the discounted price on the phone you have to order new service and activate it. For example to get the l70 at 49.99 it has to be a new activation with i believe the 50 dollar plan at the mininum so it would cost 99 plus taxes. The absolute most youd get for that phone selling it is around 75 to 100 if your lucky. Thus any profit you could make is taken away by the cost of service. But no not illegal. Just not profitable either.
