Greetings and Welcome to the Forum

Without knowing what brand and model of phone you have, as well as what carrier you are on is challenging.

I might suggest you call the carrier you are using, and obtain a sim card from them. They are optimized to work best and deliver the fastest speed for your phone.

Hello! :D. Also something to add to the above. If your phone isn't branded for the carrier (I.E. AT&T phone on T-mobile or a T-mobile phone on AT&T), then you aren't garaunteed to have anything faster then 2g speeds. From what you are describing though it sounds as if your phone doesn't have the bands for metro pcs 3g service and/ or you don't have the correct APNS assigned to your account. And since Metro PCS uses the 1700/ 1900 bands for it's 3g network most phones that aren't Metro PCS/ T-Mobile branded will not work on it's 3g network unless you are in an area that has had the T-mobile 1900 Band refarmed. But from the looks of things you probably have a phone that doesn't have the 1700/ 1900 band support and thus only works on 2g speeds :/ Sorry about that.

If you just put the card in, you might need to give it a while to settle in to the network. I have a phone I just use on vacation, and when I first put in a SIM card, it hardly gets 1x, but over time it speeds up.
