metro pcs samsung galaxy s3 $299

i've been wondering why the phone is till at $459 but then again like me and a few others before have mentioned they only lower the price once once they earn their money back then everything from there on is profit, i guess they havn't earned that money back yet lol

They never will either lol this is the repeat of the samsung crap I mean craft it was the most expensive dumb phone ever and after A year collecting dust metro lowered to $39 bucks lol

I got my connect from them definitely was not a refurb that I could tell and even if it was so what. All that means is what ever it was that was going to brake did and now its fixed back to factory specs. But like I said pretty sure not refurbs I sought there would be any refurbed S3s for metro this soon.

Just so everybody knows the Samsung Galaxy 3 at MetroPCS is NOT $299, it has never been $299...it is on sale for $399....marked down from it's original $499.....and only until today, December 2nd.

You see, when I read that, I went and purchased 1 thinking that it was on sale for $299 and just about fell over dead when the "total amount due" was announced to me by the sales rep....this after an hour of programming problems. The total cost me $499.....including activation, a screen protector and a case. At that price it should have included a dancing bear and a personal assistant.

That sasaid, however, here is my review:

The service is great, excellent signal. Wi-Fi is ok... but shockingly, this supposed fast processor runs the same as my LG Connect. Everything else is average. For me, it simply wasn't worth the money.... in fact, this is the biggest mistake I've ever made....

I specifically asked the sales rep if it came with Swype keyboard as a standard option and he lied right to my face. This was a make or break for me and I am infuriated.... the phone, in my opinion is complete and total crap. Swype keyboard is not available in anything but the beta version and even then the app is terrible.... you cannot even save your own words to your personal dictionary. I gotta tell you, I am completely deflated.... totally disappointed with this phonephone. ...and shame on the metropcs salesman for both lying like a dog and then refusing a refund less then 35 minutes later. He knew exactly what he was doing....

There are ZERO keyboard apps that even remotely resemble the standard Swype app that comes standard on MOST droid phones. Oh, and the pre-installed keyboard.... OMG, WHAT THE HE!! WAS SAMSUNG THINKING? IT'S PATHETIC.

I'm am putting this on eBay and will happily revert to utilizing my LG Connect. If anyone is interested, PM me.. I've had this less than 4 hours and I still cannot even begin to comprehend how....or why this is considered an "awesome" phone. I just don't see it at all.

Yes, I know, I'm doing a very poor job of trying to sell it off, lol.

Obviously you didn't read this thread because everybody knows it was not on sale for $299 at Metro this was a very short time sale on Wirefly. Why you didn't ask how much the phone was before even purchasing or having these "programming problems" is beyond me because everyone knows the stores sell the phones for more then what Metro's website charges usually. Also buying a screen protector and a case from one of those stores is just stupid.

I won't comment on the store person as that has nothing to do with the phone, but you should have actually checked out this phone online, just reading the cnet review would have told you it doesn't have swype.

wow man seriously your selling your s3 because its total crap because it doesnt have a pre-installed swype keyboard. there are swype keyboards in the google store you can download i myself dont like swype but hey what ever. seems like an odd reason to get rid of the s3 and go back to the connect. Good luck with that. and yes it was most definitely on sale for 299 on wirefly.com as the post said.

Wow. It's a crap phone because of the keyboard? There are plenty of keyboard replacements including swiftkey which also has a swype like feature (don't know if it was updated yet). 4 hours is not even enough time to learn about the phone. Well your choice is your choice. Goodluck with the sale.

High five to you Sir. That other person talking about the keyboard is quick to judge, remember this is android you can chose whatever you need. No wonder why apple gets bigger people judge a phone by its keyboard. I don't understand this world, people never like to have freedom, they call restriction freedom and hate the freedom given. Such as the case with android and apple products. And another comparison when people buy something from a mall and if the mall charges 100 dollar while the item cost 10 dollar no one says anything, but if a small business charges ten time less and even give discount people will complain that the price is too high, blah blah. Once again I am not attacking anyone just wanted to say some things. Also to the buddy want to return the phone, I would really like you to please watch youtube videos about android. I promise you that, once you have gathered more info about android, you will come to love it.

His post just seems like a BS story to me, so much of it just doesn't make any factual sense.
He was in a store for over an hour and didn't see the tons of black Friday posters all over the place and if he did he didn't wonder why the prices on the posters were $100 too much? That's the thing that makes the least amount to me

hey plus im .sure the guy would have told him the price somewhere during that time even if he wasnt paying attention to the posters and such

hopefully he knows that swype keyboard can be installed free free from their site......? plus stock ics rom has a keyboard that works just like swype. and if anything............

Swype | Get Swype

hopefully that resolves anymore questions ;)

Yea I installed the swype keyboard the second day I had the phone. It is great. Regular keyboard is disgustingly bad though to be honest. I got used to swype with the Esteem...but if you compared S3's standard keyboard to any iPhone keyboard...it's sad how much slower and less responsive the S3's is.
