Metropcs Byod sim card cutting

Can you cut a metropcs byod sim card so that it fits in another unlocked phone. And if so what would I have to do to activate it . I am upgrading from the skyrocket to the note 2. The metro sim card that I have is activated for the skyrocket but I wanted to take that same sim card and cut it so it fits in the note 2 and activate it. Is my that possible and if so how.

Its possible. The easiest way is to buy a sim cutter. Can be a pain in the a@@ if you try to cut it down by hand unless you have a template and a steady hand. To activate it you would have to call metro and give em the imei number of the new phone and they have to put it on your account. The easiest way for everything is to just go to metro and buy a micro sim. I think there 15 bucks. Saves a headache.

If it isn't new I would get a new one metro has made some big changes since T-Mobile taken the gsm side . :D:eek: that's me ijs.

Not all the old t mobile/metro gsm full sims are precut. Also the ones they included with the exhibit were not precut also.

Will the metro authorized dealers sell you a sim card alone or will they try to make you activate it with them also.

They will prolly make you switch phones there and charge you the "esn swap" fee on top of the sim charge. Its a pain but really when compared to cutting a sim yourself it is the much easier option. Unless you have a sim cutter its a royal pain to get it right.

Warned ya lol if you need one right away the only option is goin to a store and payin the fees. Really no way around it.

Skyrocket takes a full sized sim. Or mini sim as its actually called. Its basically the s2 on att. The original att s2 had only a 4.3 inch screen. The skyrocket was the bigger s2 att released to compete with sprint and t mobiles s2. I believe the skyrocket is lte capable also as where the original att s2 was just hspa+.

Nope was a mini sim device. If you bought it brand new though it came with a micro to mini sim adapter but that would do the op no good as he had a mini sim and needs a micro.
