Hey guys, I got lost on how to update the s3 from 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 or 4.2.2 which ever it is. Im not new to rooting but I just picked up the S3 and I see a lot of roms with the new version. Can anyone help me out?

Well if you are experienced with rooting just pick a rom. I'm personally waiting for BB8. On 7 right now. If you are looking for stock you can use the software update on your phone. If you want the stock feel I recommend metropolis. It's really all up to you.

I dont like the stock feel its not bad but i wanted to try out some others like liquid smooth. Im not experience d with the s3 that much I have cwm and everything I was just wondering do I go ahead and flash the rom? Or do I have to update for that rom? Thanks. And BB as in black bean?

All instructions are posted in that specific rom thread. If you are unsure after reading, go ahead and post in that thread. This will ensure you get a correct, specific response. Hope this helps you

Welcome Blazingmods glad to see new members in here. I see your interested in trying out roms and what may i suggest some first basic essential steps you may need to do to ensure you protect your phone from anything that might go wrong. and ofcourse only if your rooted. backup your nv not sure if you done it already but very important.

hey is there any way you could tell me what i need to do to my S3 before i can get roms like black bean 7? I am on 4.0.4 do i need to update? Because it says the rom is based on 4.2.1 but I'm not too sure on what to do.

Follow the directions in the thread. It tells you how to flash it. You do not need to " update" before you flash bb7

yes confed is right with any roms we have here in our subforum there is no need to update android build before flashing any rom since each rom comes already with its own system files ready to be flash on your phone and other important files. if you have any questions regarding a specific rom please don't hesitate to ask in the specific thread.
