Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here but I finally got things back to normal. There has been a release of Carbon with Halo included.

My feedback thus far.

I have been running it for 2 minutes, I already had a reboot within the first minute. Also, my System UI crashed. just my 2 cents. ALSO, the lockscreen flickers.
 
Good news I just flashed the BMS kernel and its running it perfect now.


EDIT: Ignore this. I keep getting System UI crashes.
 
Lol don't worry we are. That's why you should stay with our dev's roms, or at least the one's they recommend

Yeah, I'm starting to realice that. Truthfully, if I could some-how learn how to develop.. or modify things I'd be thrilled. I'd help out. The reason I went for a 4.2.2 rom was because I wanted to mimic the S4 a bit.


Out of curiosity.. would someone know if there can possibly be a 4.2.2 port?
 
To fix the systemui crashes, turn off halo first (hold the halo bubble and drag to the red x), restart your phone, then restart halo (press the halo button in the notification shade).

ROM is working perfectly. Only occasionally I get a grey signal bar for an hour or two but data calls and 4g still work.

I'm going to try that now actually. BTW, have you experienced the flickering at the lockscreen? It starts flickering different colored lines.. red..Green...blue..etc til you unlock the phone. Do you know how I could fix this?

Edit: I also noticed when I was at work(MetroPCS) that the bars would turn grey on me.. I'd slide the panel down and when I'd press the signal icon.. 4G turned on again.

wowww -_- I can't believe I didin't have that selected. Thanks man, I appreciate it. By the way, I had a question.. by any chance do you think we get a TouchWiz 4.2.2 port to our S3? cause that's actually the reason I came to Carbon with 4.2.2 installed the Launcher and now it's my own "S4" lol.

its all possible thats not the probelm its finding some1 thats willing to take on the challenge and all the hard work lol.

who can I speak to, so I could get some minor guidance on how to do all of it? even start off with kernels and build my way up. I work at metropcs, so I have Access to all our pone selection. *Dr.Evil pinky stare.*
 
Try xda they have lots of tuts in compiling kernels and roms. im sure also if you pm shabby he can link you to some links where they take their time to explain basics.

Sorry for the late reply. Were you able to get the lockscreen flickering sorted out? I haven't had that issue on my phone, but I do get the occasional grey bars like you mentioned. For some reason, even though the bars are grey, I still get my usual 4g speed though. I heard grey bars mean that can mean that you either don't have internet or you don't have a connection to Google servers. However, all I had to do was wait an hour or so and the bars turned blue. They also stay blue even after a reboot.
 
Guys I really really like this ROm but it don't matter what I do system ui keeps crashing.. any fix for that?

Hey Darryim, I was actually having the same problema and if you read a few post prior to ours.. they helped me out. press and hold the Little halo til the X pops up at the top.. drag and close [to the x] and reboot your phone. That did the trick for me and I've been running perfectly.
