Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] stuck on 3g

got a new galaxy but its stuck on 3g

have tryed reprogramming it

the *228 activations and everything eles metro also could not help me

my mobile network type is evdo rev A:8 shouldnt it be lte 14

how can i change it to lte 14

My s3 was like this when I first got it. Had to go to the metro store and have then change the iccid card number to my new one That came with the phone. Some how my phone got activated but the old iccid number from my esteem was still in there computers

when i first bought my s3 it was stuck on 3G mode so i called samsung and they told me to send it in..... they updated the sw version... so maybe thats what your phone needs ... just my two cents

also siometimes dealer dont activate ur 4g just call 611 and have them see if your 4g was activated. other than that u could have 4g down in ur area so dont sweat it.

And if you activated over the phone, that can happen also cause the iccid dont get register. Login to your metro pcs account and look under profile and there should be your phone and iccid that should say active.

there still was 3g after reseting the phone dialing 611 and calling metro they said my phone might be defective and filed a ticket, i even odin reset to stock 4.0.4 and upgraded to jelly bean still no 4g so i rooted the phone put on metroplise and changed the baseband to the new leak one that was released AND still no 4g so i gave up and then randomly today after all that my 4g cut on , like wtf i guess 4g was down in my area

I've tried installing several custom roms multiple times on my Metro Pcs Galaxy S3. Eventually, I lost my 4G(LTE). I tried googling the problem to no avail. I tried flashing the stock rom, both the original and updated ones several times through Odin. After having it completely back to stock, counter included, I contacted Metro. At their website, it says my ICCID no longer exists, however,it does and has been that way for quite a while even with 4G working. They tried reprogramming my phone through their system to see if that would resolve the problem, it didn't. They said they would do a report on it, and that would take 3-5 days. Fiddling with my phone, I came across the factory reset which I thought would already have been accomplished flashing the stock rom back on, but thought what the H. I did the factory reset and my 4G is back. I felt the need to post this somewhere so that anyone having the same issue might find their answer.

be on 4.0.4
get your MSL here is a video on how to do it nevermind t hat its a sprint phone USGalaxyS3.com - How to obtain your MSL (SPC) for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) - YouTube
dial ##rtn#
click reset and enter your msl

this will wipe your device clean, it cleans out your EFS partitions and restores the device back to doing the hands free activation and thus re activates the device. if this still doesnt fix it then its the card or metropcs. the whole nvbackup/restore thing doesnt work most of the time while this will.

should you want to do this on 4.1 youll need to enable hidden menus using n4zty's guide :)
