Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Unlock Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello everyone, I'm trying to unlock my Samsung Galaxy S3 from METROPCS 4G (SCH-R530M).
I've rooted and installed (Busybox) Voodoo unlock SIM, SIM unlocker and others apps... but they all say SCH-R530M is incompatible...
Is there other method that I can unlock it?
Thanks anyways. :D

Obs: When I type *#197328640# nothing happens.
Obs2: I've bought it in US then I came to Brazil, so I need to SIM unlock it to put my sim card from here.

These websites has never Metro PCS as "Original Service Provider of Phone"... And when I put my SIMcard (not from metro) nothing appears to put the PIN code... :(

seems there is a unlock menu but finding out the unlock code wont be a walk in the park.

you can turn a cdma phone into a GSM phone yes (but only SOME of them)
for traveling outside US
would be 2g/3g
google verizon phone to GSM
It does work BUT you will NOT have 4G/LTE
all S3's have the 2g/3g radio chip in them, it's the 4G/LTE that operates on different frequency's so that is more carrier specific
but WHY would you want a slow phone?
if you travel outside the US then sure for local GSM sim's but the "SIM" in your metro is NOT a SIM, it is a UICC card that is DEVICE SPECIFIC and is for the 4G/LTE
NOT for GSM, and you should never pull that card in or out BECAUSE a new card will NOT work and Metro can NOT make those cards, they come from Samsung, and you can NOT reprogram them either (the card).

Since the S3 has the cat.3 UICC card they are swappable and I've actually tested it before.
Swapped a throttled motions UICC with my unlimited S3's and it worked, and still even worked when I swapped them back.

as someone who has been trying for months to get a shred of gsm signal working with it i can tell you firsthand the verizon is a global gsm device out of the box, the SCH-R530C/U/M is not nor is sprints SPH-L710 or cspires SCH-L710

well sprint doesnt even take a sim card.

To better figure this out we have to better understand the difference between a uicc card and a sim card now from the research I've done with our uicc and it's maker seems there isn't very much difference in what they do. And seems even gsm phones can be programmed to use uicc cards so that leaves me to believe it's also true for vice versa. With that being said our hybrid phone is only using the data aspect of our uicc card. So whose to say that our phones can't /won't just use the data off the sim to function? Also metropcs is using uicc cards made from gemalto do a Lil research and u shall find ;) on there page they explain what their uicc do. Also seems there's a way to access it and store data on it even contact numbers.

That thing can hold up to 2GB?
yep and if i remember correctly on metropolis rom each time i add a new contact it gives us the option to save to sim. although i havnt tried it but curious to see if on a new flash if it will add automatically from the uicc. :D good experiment to try.

also for reference just proof metropcs is using gemalto uicc cards

So let me get this straight, can we unlock it or not?

we dont have the 16 digit code to even experiment so we dont know what can be unlocked. but yes theres is a lock for the actual uicc/simcard i found the menu with the menu lock and it ask for the code but we dont know what exactly can be done once unlocked we dont know if this phone will accept a sim card instead of a uicc card theres too many unanswered questions to be going around and assuming things. and qualcomm isnt about to release no imei unlock codes just for the hell of it.

Thanks for the quick response n4zty. I really need this to be unlocked..
It would great if someone could provide this code so it can help us in development..

yea i agree but metro dont want us taking our gs3 elsewhere lol also if we do find a way to unlock that network lock that would mean lots of people would buy the gs3 off us cellular since they cheaper and just using it on metro. or vice versa. also the note 2 on us celular could work on metro's network so as u can see theres lots of potential but would have to experiment first :D
