{MetroPCS} F3, L9 or exhibit

considering I have yet to have any hands on with any of the devices, It will depend on her if she is the trendy type I think the L9 because its bigger, the exhibit because its round and is accented with blue so that may be cute, if lte connectivity is on her mind than the F3, If she is app happy and downloads a lot of apps than the one with the most on board storage is best. if her hands are small F3 and s3 mini(exhibit) may be best. in terms of picture quality Lg phones i guess are alright but I only hear great things about samsung so the exhibit may be that road. call quality I couldn't even tell you.

I've looked at the specs on the F3 and L9, and the one thing that stands out is the limited amount of internal storage, just over 1GB. That's not going to be enough for someone who keeps a lot of stuff on the phone that can't be moved to the external SD (at least not without rooting the phone and messing around with things you may not be comfortable messing with). Not sure why LG did this with the newer phones, my Motion which cost the same as both of these phones has over 5GB of internal storage. Aside from the storage issue they look like decent mid-range phones and should be a good value for the money.

I know the motion has quite a bit maybe they go hey we were giving it away with this phone.. lets fix that

Yeah the Motion was a great deal for what it has and how it performs. The F3 looks like it would be essentially a lateral move from the Motion to a GSM near-equivalent if it weren't for the storage. The Exhibit doesn't look like a great option, it has the same limited storage plus the smallest screen of the bunch and a small battery.

here is how i would break it down for ya, the L9 is like the esteem, bigger screen and a clunker. old old cpu. the f3 is more like the connect, faster cpu/gpu but you sacrifice that screen size, me personally i wouldnt consider the l9 or the exhibit

Strange the ones you wouldn't consider are the ones with out lte

its more of specs, the 4430 in teh l9 is dated, the cpu that was in the now very dated gnexus was the step above it (the 4460). when teh f3 has teh s4 chipset like the sgs3/spirit/motion....

same rings true for teh exhibit, its old tech recycled..

And then the chipsets that shabby just gave above would need to add stuff for LTE support, on the S4 it already has everything that's if you wanted to know why they probably didn't put LTE in those.

I have read that the Exhibit screen is horrible. I had all of LG that I could handle after a few years with the Optimus M and then Connect, so my wife and I both took advantage of the $99 deal on the Lightray. It is no powerhouse, but is 4G and the screen is nice. For the price if it keeps me happy until some better midrange Samsungs come out then I will satisfied. The S3 and S4 are just too much $ for me to justify.

wow, seriously i would reconsider that and eitehr hold off, or use byod to your advantage. get teh samsung galaxy s 4g or the vibrant (both are SGS1 devices) if you are really happy with the hummingbird soc found in the lightray. the exception is both of them would far better dev communities and even have cm9/10. the lightray was dead before it was even announced, the chipset in it is as old as dirt and cant run tw ics. its why the admire 4g/attain 4g/indulge 4g never got updated past 2.3 :(

I'm going to buy a new phone for my daughter and I just wanted to get some opinions on which you guys thought was better?

I would go with the F3
1- it's lighter (we don't like heavy phones in our clutch, pocket or hoodie.. let alone our hands hahaha);)
2- it's faster by .2 gHz (girls are very inpatient lol)
3- More talk time you already know.. Girls can talk and talk and talk lol
however, since it lacks the .4gbs of storage that the L9 has.. Just grab her and 8-16 gb sd card.. you can't go wrong. And if you want to save yourself a little bit of money on that sd card, don't buy it from metro. Order it off line. I got my 16gb Micro SD for $6.. that's a steal!!

Either way you go.. I'm sure she'll love it!!

Good Luck!! :D

+1 try not to buy anything from metro that isn t a phone or a plan. They often required you to part with half a family jewel just for a case
