MetroPCS goes to Cricket Support

My MetroPCS Coolpad 4G cannot make calls, only revceice calls, send and receice messages. I try calling 611 and a Cricket support line answers.
 
Hmmm. As far as I know, Metro PCS is owned by T-Mobile and Cricket is being bought by AT&T.

Did you buy this device new, or used?

Is it rooted?
