MetroPCS LTE Service coming to Long Island, NY

Interesting, I received a "4G" connection from my Long Island home this morning (Nassau/Suffolk border). It switched for short periods between 1xRTT and LTE. During the short connections, I got 1kB/sec down, and 3624kB/sec up. Quite unusual. Hopefully this means MetroPCS has commenced LTE upgrades for Long Island.

LG Esteem unrooted running ZVB software release with 3029prl.

No, MetroPCS is strictly 1xRTT on Long Island. At best, 1xRTT here yields roughly 7kB/sec down, and 29kB/sec up. I only saw a "4G" LTE Connection during the morning however. I'll have to keep my eyes open. One may assume it's in the testing phase.

I sustained a new "4g" LTE connection yesterday evening. During the 10:00 P.M. hour, I was able to verify the LTE Connection using SpeedTest. Download speeds ranged from 167-175kB/sec down and 117-119kB/sec up (Yes, I selected kilobytes in the "tools" tab). Connections returned to the 1xRTT Network after 5-10 minutes. I do believe MetroPCS is testing LTE on Long Island, even if they haven't announced it. Again, I am located on the Nassau/Suffolk Border.

4G "LTE" seems to be a go on Long Island. I've maintained a consistent "4G" LTE Connection since 3:30 PM. It's 8:32PM as I type this. Granted, I've remained connected to the same tower (based on SpeedTest's purported Longitude/Latitude Stat.) Speeds are ranging from 142-175kB/sec down through 217-240kB/sec up. Ping times range from 117-146ms. Not the fastest, but much better than the dialup speeds and 800+ms timings achieved with 1xRTT.
