Metropcs stopped flashing?

So I wanted to get a used phone from spint or verizon but when I called the metro store to see if they could flash in a phone from them they told me this. That they discontinued flashing phones from other services because it bogs down there network and such. So is this actually true did they stop flashing in phones?

That depends on where you live. Here in Los Angeles, some stores still flash phones. My mom flashed her Verizon phone to Metro (about a week ago), so I can say that it still is being done
