Help Micro SD card is making my S3 cranky

I got a Sandisk 64gig Micro SDXC card from Amazon today. I formatted the card as FAT32 as mentioned in some other threads. I can see and use the card on my Windows 7 laptop with no issues. When I insert the card into my Galaxy S3 and go into settings I get all kinds of error messages like Android.Process.Media has stopped, MTP has stopped and then the phone becomes very slow and unstable. I rebooted and same results.

You may have to use the computer. That size card should be formated as exFat.
It has to be formatted FAT32, there are many threads discussing the issues with exFAT and 64gig, it does not show all files as exFAT.

What's odd is I just tried something to see what happens. I have a Panasonic digital camera that was able to format the card as exFAT. The S3 sees the card and does not get cranky. When I formatted it with Windows 7 as exFAT, the S3 went nuts.

Now I'm going to have the 64gig issue where the S3 can't use all of it. I don't understand why the S3 is going crazy when I format it as FAT32.

Well I don't understand what the Panasonic camera did but it fixed everything. I reformatted the card in the Win 7 box as FAT 32 and the S3 was happy when I inserted it. The acid test will be when I get more than 32gig on it to see what happens....
