Micro SD Card

I have been having issues putting music files on my micro SD cards for weeks. It is incredibly frustrating!

My problem is that my files keep disappearing. I will transfer a bunch of music and the computer will be working for a long time transferring, but when I look in the folders they are mostly empty. Random songs will remain, but once I put the card back into the phone or try playing them, they will all eventually disappear. Sometimes some files will be around for a few hours, sometimes they never show up at all.

I have tried five different cards, from very cheap to very expensive. I have tried transferring using a USB cord and by using a card adapter put directly into the computer.I have tried formatting on the computer and on the phone. I have tried transferring files to the phone storage first and then moving them to the card. I have tried creating the 'Music' folder on the card in various different directories. Nothing makes a difference.

Any ideas? Similar experiences? Thank you!

Welcome to android forums. I have similar problem and unfortunately, it's still unsolved up to these days. I actually reformatted my sd card but it didn't help at all. What I did was, I just use my phone as it is without any music in it.. It was a little bit frustrating on my end. Hopefully someone can help us both though. Fingers crossed.

If your music collection exceeds the size of the card the computer will make random choices for deletion to fit everything on. I found this out the hard way having purchased a 64GB card on Ebay which turned out to be counterfeit and really on had 8GB of space on it. I find it hard to believe that you could get 5 counterfeit cards in a row but check out this thread for some tips on determining if you do have counterfeits. The buzz starts after the first post on that page.
