Help Microphone for video

Anybody having problems with the microphone when you take a video? I can barley hear the audio when I use video. I read on other forums that this is a known problem.
I don't want to return the phone if I can help it. Hopefully it is a software issue.

“Known problem”.

Did samsung acknowledge this as a problem? Can you provide that source please?

I take videos all the time and no issues with audio. im even using 3rd party video apps.

The microphone in your smartphone is, by design, intended for mono, voice audio. The opening itself is just a pin-hole towards the bottom edge so functionally it's for close proximity, not necessarily for picking up audio across a room. By keeping your expectations more in line with what you have to work with, you might not see this as an actual 'problem' but more of just the way things are currently. Maybe getting an external microphone will serve your needs?

Regarding the video you initially brought up, just curious but is this just some recorded video at some random event or is it something with more emotional significance like a baby shower?

"Wide spread" problem then.

No, my question is have Samsung came out and stated this is a “known problem” or “wide spread” problem? Reading about a bunch of bandwagon posts on an ehustaists site does not really constitute a “known problem” when there are millions of these devices out in the wild.

As i stated ive had zero issues with audio recording. If you would like to post up some examples of your audio you have recorded, that would help further the discussion. :)

Are you sure you have issues just with the Mic while video recording..or perhaps also with the Mic while you are in speaker in an actual phone call¿

video recording, It works fine when I'm talking to someone on the phone. I think It's just the way I'm using it. I think the phone is fine.
