Help Microphone not working

Just bought a new Android 4.4.2 tablet and I cant get the microphone to work. Even if I plug in an headset with microphone it does not work. Am I doing something wrong here?

You can try doing the skype call test which tests your microphone. If that doesn't work then it might be just a defective build. Try going back to the store and talking to someone, you will likely get a replacement. Don't forget to bring your receipts, box, and everything that came in the box.
