-Delete Phone Data In App Manager

PS This is obviously not an isolated issue caused by a phone malfunction. There are too many people with the same issue for that to be the case. Replacing with a new phone will work because it will have no data in the Phone App and may not have the Noise Suppression selected. If you want and can get a new phone from this issue then kudos to you.
 
I too turned off the Background Noise Cancellation just for that reason.

That feature takes audio input from both microphones and then tries to cancel "common mode inputs"... and quite often, that is your own voice. It just depends on how the phone is positioned relative to your mouth.

For me, I try to always use a trucker's Bluetooth headset if a conversation is going to last longer than 30 seconds. I just pick up the headset, turn it on, and it takes over and the caller never knows that I did it. Those little BT earbuds aren't worth the postage stamps it costs to bring them home...
 
i update my phone and made a factory reset ... problem still there.

Wow! I'm getting a new VZ phone Friday and the S5 was at the top of the list. Might change my mind after reading this thread!

The S5 is still a very good solid phone, that has a lot of features that put it way up there in the top tier.
I would not change my S5 for anything else. and it is paid for... I will not be accepting any offers from VZW to change it out when there isn't anything "better" right now. different case sizes, different appearance, but not anything that works better. This is a top of the line phone that will give us terrific performance for many years.

this "background noise cancellation" is just a small wrinkle that bothers some people... it is not a major problem... and it exists on other model phones too... I always turn it off on every phone I have.
some folks on the other end will complain about your phone audio regardless of how good it is.

I'm on Verizon and the combo of them and the phone is still good... best network period, AT&T is close, but still leaves a lot of ground w/o a signal. The rest of the carriers are just "also rans", that have to depend on AT&T or Verizon to expand their footprint.
 
Hi ive got same problem with my s5 but i cant find CLEAR DATA.
I click on SITTING then APPLICATION MANNAGER then can not find the DATA to clear it. Could someone show me please.
