Microsoft Next Not Showing Over Lock Screen

Hi All - I've installed Microsoft Next on my phone but it doesn't display over the lock screen. Instead, when I unlock my phone I see the MS Next screen for an instant, then it vanishes and I'm looking at my home screen. This seems like it might be a setting for all custom lock screens, but I don't really know, and I can't find any kind of setting to change to make it work. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Any lock screen will have precedent over your home screen.
Turn off the lock screen.

That's not an option, as the security is set up for work. My previous phone (also a J7), which I lost a few days ago, used MS Next with the same security setting, so I know it's possible.

Were both J7s on the same firmware version? If not, could be Samsung changed something with an update?
