microUSB microSD card reader

Does such thing exist? Now that there is a deluge of OTG flash memory sticks, with the power consumption point of view, will it not be a better idea to develop a microSD card reader with microUSB tip, so that you get external storage and power consumed is minimum.

Has anyone compared power consumption of OTG cable with traditional flash drive attached? Just to know how much of a battery drain it is, compared to say microSD card inserted in the slot.

Awesome, except the price is not at all competitive.

I will stick to my OTG cable for $2

You should compare the price to a microSD card reader rather than a cable. I don't think it's at all bad for what it is (a neater alternative to card reader + OTG lead, and as a niche device it has to be made without the economies of scale you'd get with a full-sized USB SD card reader).
