Mini-today widget alternative?

The one who must be obeyed uses her google calendar extensively (via s-planner) historically in all her previous phones (Notes 1+3). She always used a "mini-today" widget that shows the current day's events.

However, on the S7, the only s-planner widget is a monthly view. Is there a way to get a daily view widget? If not, which apps would you recommend? I tried the standard google app which was ok, but for some reason this is not showing all her google calendars, despite attempts of wiping calendar storage data.

Do you have a normal S7 or Edge? The S Planner Edge panel is daily view.

Yes it's an Edge.
I noticed the edge panel shortcut, but she prefers her old "mini-today" style widget.
I'm trying to persuade her into using the edge panel version though!
