Miracast and ChromeCast x AndroidTv x Windows 10

Hello

I can use miracast and chromecast using my smartphone (android) and my Philips Android Tv.

But, when I try to use from my notebook (Windows 10) I receive the following errors:

1. Chromecast: I can find Philips Tv and try to connect. But I receive "google cast receiver stopped working" message in my TV screen.

2. Miracast: I can find Philips TV and try to connect. But I receive "Connecting" message in my TV screen and nothing happens.

Any idea, tks a lot, Leo

For Chromecast try downloading the Cast Reciever for your TV.
This often fixes the issue that many people like you have.

For Miracast - some Philips TV have issues... what model TV do you have?

First, let's assume that you have tried and passed the Intel WiDi Compatability test, right?

This type of issue you have suggests that it could be related to resolution.
You could try this...

In settings/control panel find Display adapter properties
Click on List All Modes
Choose the exact resolution that matches your TV
Save changes and try to re-connect...

If you're connecting your notebook to your home network through WiFi, maybe try this. Temporarily connect your notebook to your router using an Ethernet cable and see it you're still getting those same errors using a wired connection to your LAN instead of a wireless connection. If things are OK than at least that narrows the problem down to something relative to your WiFi configuration. If you still get error messages than try installing this free utility to your phone, Fing.

Run a basic scan on your home network and it should list all the connected devices to your LAN, by their IP address. Click on your Win10 notebook entry and peruse through its info, maybe do a 'ping' test too.

Hello.
Cast Receiver is updated in my TV.
Intel WiDi Compatibility was tested and it´s ok.
It looks like Windows 10 has support for miracast, thus intel donp´t give more support for Widi.
But I don´t know if there is a problem using Windows 10 and and Intel supported Widi together...
There are lot´s of questions about it in many foruns, but I didn´t find a solution. :(

Just curious but just what content and how are you trying to cast it from your Win10 notebook? A locally stored video file or online content like Hulu or Netflix? Are you using a web browser like Edge or Chrome, or an application?

Hi svim, tks for your question.
I´m just trying to mirror my Chrome browser screen to my Philips Android TV through Chromecast.

Hug, Leo.

I still think it's a problem with the Philips TV.
They have a history of problems with Miracast.
Taking into consideration both the Chromecast and Miracast are working with the OP's smartphone I wouldn't think it is a Philips TV problem here. Still suspect some kind of networking issue with the Win10 notebook as that's the stated issue.
Plugging the notebook into the LAN with an Ethernet cable to see if the problem still exists would at least eliminate a wireless network driver problem.

Thinking better, it should be a win

Hi swin.
Unhappy I don´t have a lan cable as long as I need to make this connection.
But I think my wifi is all right. Because I can share videos and pics through DLNA from my PC to TV.
This app Fing is not available in Google Play Store for Android TV.

Tks, Leo.

Yes, but DLNA is working fine. Using Wifi.
