I have the AVH-X5700BHS car stereo and am trying to use the Galaxy S5 with the MirrorLink feature. I have confirmed that my stereo detects my phones connection via USB. When I unlock my phone it actually says "to activate MirrorLink, unlock your phone". When I pull up my Google Maps GPS, I do not see my google maps appear on my screen. I even confirmed the firmware of my stereo is up to date as well. I have attached an image of my stereo settings, just to make sure I am not crazy.
