Missed call / message reminders

The apps that I've seen recommended (Missed Call, Missed Reminder, Easy Reminder) all seem to involve disabling the phone's sleep feature, which I don't think I'd want. Am I right? If so, how do others cope with that?

I used to use MissedCall on my Eris. Now, I use EasyReminder on my Incredible. Neither one seemed to effect sleep/wake times nor did they adversely effect battery life.

I still think repeating alerts should be native to the Android OS. But, until that happens, I'll keep using EasyReminder.

I would think that most of these apps work on a timer, allowing the phone to sleep until it's time to wake up and remind you.

If you're a Tasker user, head over to the Tasker Wiki and try the Missed Notification Reminder profiles.

I was concerned because the "Permissions" blurb that you get before installing says "System tools. Prevent device from sleeping. Allows an application to prevent the device from going to sleep."

But you're right. I've installed Easy Reminder and it seems to go to sleep OK, just as it did before, and it gives me the audible reminder that I want whilst it's asleep.
