missed call reminder app

Once upon a time, when cell phones were larger, slower, and generally much more clunky there was this feature where the phone would chime and in other ways be slightly annoying when you had a voice mail or text message.

For some reason, this feature is no longer native to phones and must be added with an app. (blinking leds do not count since I do not have eyes in my pocket.)

Is there a feature like this built into KitKat? if so, please tell me where it is. If not read on.

The app that my wife and I have been using for four years (on our Nexi) called, "Missed Reminder" by Orange Software, has been removed from Google Play (at least I couldn't find it). It worked very well and was very well liked. In other words it has a high "WAF". (Wife Acceptance Factor)

My wife wants it on her Nexus 5 but play doesn't have it. But I have it! Its in "My Apps -> All" on my Nexus 5 because and I was able to install it.

Question: is there a way to share the app with her via the googleverse? Or manually copy it with adb?

PS We've tried three other reminder apps. Each has issues, aka low WAF.

App Backup and Restore. Back the app up. You'll get an adb file. Put the adb file on her phone and press it (use a file manager, like My Files). The installer will come up and ask if she wants to install it.

Helium, backup including the apk, transfer the backup to her device and restore using Helium.

Easier yet (IMO), with ES File Explorer, swipe right on the bottom toolbar, select App Manager from the left pane, long-press on the app, then tap Share at the bottom of the screen. You can share it via Gmail, or any of several other choices.
