The last time I paid for an MLB.tv account, this wasn't exactly true. Basically, any games that were being Nationally televised or, otherwise, would be available on some level of cable TV service in my area (like TBS, ESPN, something like that) would be blacked out.
The rationale, fwiw, is that they want you watching on TV whenever possible because the advertisers pay to have you watch the ads on TV.
This was a few years ago now, but I left MLB.tv and never looked back. Too many problems with stream quality, freezing, and blackouts.
The "illegal" streams performed just as well for me (same problems with quality and not being able to see some games) but I didn't have to pay out my arse for the opportunity to get screwed.
Why would anyone want to watch the Yankees?
I always enjoy watching them lose.
I just tried to watch some highlight/recap videos with wifi on - and it spins and spins to an error message "can not play the video"..
however, if i turn wifi off and use 3g - it works, but clearly not as well as it would (hypothetically) with wifi..
anyone get the app to work on wifi? something i'm missing?

Where is the Twitter feed - that's not an iPhone only option is it?
I've got an Evo 4g... last nights game streamed fine, today's was goofy. I'll call as per above for that one.
Where is the 'more' screen that the tips page mentions? I 've been drinking.... but I just can't find it.
Is there another At Bat thread around here somewhere?

anyone get live streaming to work on any other devices besides the ones they list as supported devices (Sprint HTC Evo, Verizon HTC Droid Incredible, Verizon Motorola Droid X, Verizon Motorola Droid, Verizon Motorola Droid 2, Verizon Motorola Droid Pro, Verizon HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Galaxy Tab, HTC Nexus One, T-Mobile Samsung Nexus S, T-Mobile HTC Glacier (myTouch 4G))?

I think this app is defective. It keeps showing the "greatest team ever assembled" getting slapped around game after game.

Calling sprint for my MSL worked to fix the audio... I still can not find the "more" option that the app directions refer to.
Dont bother, I already tried that. They sent me a generic "canned" response back, to which I replied "could you give me an actual answer instead of a canned response?" Got an email back, saying to call their 800 number to talk with a tech. I did that, and got the same canned response from them....

Bump to warn people NOT to buy this. This app is pure garbage (yes I'm still bitter about wasting $15 on this)
how is it pure garbage? I use it to listen to the Braves on the radio when I drive home. (their games start at 4 my time, usually.)
And if I am not at home watching MLB.tv on my Roku or computer, then I can watch the game on my phone. Video quality is about as good as I can expect over 3G. Havent tried it in a 4G area yet.
I like the app.

There must be something wrong with this app. Mine told me that David Ortiz stole 2nd base. I love Big Papi, but that's just impossible.
