Help Mobile data with pandora

This is a question reguarding tasker

My Mobile data keeps shutting off if I am playing pandora and or another audio app and attempt to use my device for other things. Technically pandora is still running and playing audio, therefore what I'd like to occur is for my mobile data to shut off when I stop pandora. Not when I simply navigate to another app. I'm rooted and don't have Mobile data problems or conflicts anywhere else.

Iv spent days surfing the net looking for fixes and I cannot findtany.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Welcome to Android Forum s.

You posted this in the forum dedicated to Tasker. Is Tasker somehow involved? If not I will move your question to where applications are discussed.

In the absence of added information from you I assume you are trying to use Tasker to toggle mobile data on when Pandora is running and off when it is not.

I cannot toggle mobile data on my Droid Turbo so I used WiFi instead.

This profile does what you want ...
Profile: Pandora
Application: Pandora, App/Services
Enter: Anon
A1: WiFi [ Set:On ]
Exit: Anon
A1: WiFi [ Set:Off ]

My guess is that you only selected App and you needed to select both App and Services.

That is expected behavior if the application is not in the foreground when you check only the "App button" at the bottom of the screen where you select the apps for the context. I'd try also checking the "Services" button along with "App" button (at the bottom of the screen where you select the apps for the context)... I think that will capture situations when the app runs a service in the background.

But I'm not 100% it'll exit properly. If it doesn't exit properly let us know. I'd say the next best thing is to have a Task which toggles Pandora on/off and also toggles data on/off in the process. Put it on your desktop instead of your Pandora app icon. Only use that toggle to start or stop pandora. I can give more details if you want.
