Mobile Hotspot Authentication Error

I am having an issue with my mobile hotspot with Verizon. Getting an authentication error when trying to connect. It has worked before on my S8. Now not working on my new S9. I contacted Verizon they put me through some test and also replaced my phone with a new one and I am having the same issue. A support ticket has been issued and they say this is an ongoing issue with Samsung devices within the past 2 weeks. Is anyone else having the same issue?

I have an LG V40 and I am having the same exact problem. Tech has tried everything to get mine to authenticate for the last week to no avail. So I'm guessing the manufacturer of the phone isnt the issue, its the carrier. I switched from an S8 to this LG and have been having major regrets because no one has been able to fix this issue. My s8 NEVER had any problems with the hotspot feature and I seriously regret upgrading at this point. Good luck, hopefully you can get yours working soon.

So a Samsung S9 and an LG V40 apparently with the exact same problem on the same carrier, Verizon? That sounds like a problem in the carrier network. Are you both in the same city, state?

I'm in Lake City, FL. And yes same carrier. That's was my conclusion as well. Just wish someone could tell me how to fix it because after doing literally everything they have suggested, short of getting a new device, I am stuck. Lol

I am also having these same problems. I am a Verizon customer and have had the S10 for about a month. I had an S8 before and had no issues with the mobile hotspot. The day I got the S10 they changed my plan to the Play More Unlimited plan so I have 15Gb of hotspot. I am unsure whether it's a hardware or software issue because every time i call Verizon they try to sell me the hotspot device. If anyone has a fix please let me know.

FYI it took me 3 weeks and 2 new devices and hours with Verizon tech support to get my issue resolved. Call customer service and have them put you through to tier 3 tech support or download tech coach on Google play.. Regular customer service knows nothing of the issue and they can't fix it despite trying everything in their "troubleshooting" tool belt, lol. It's not even well known in tech support tbh. Tech has to put you on a ticket and manually fix the issue with a patch. It's a provision issue with Verizon. Even if it shows you have hotspot on your account it will still block you from using it.

They also tried to sell me a hotspot device saying my "phone wasn't meant to be a hotspot". I say BS! Why even have the feature?
