Help Mobile Hotspot Extremely Slow

Njm

Lurker
So on my Moto Z Force I use my mobile hotspot for my PlayStation and PC, but the connection seems REALLY slow, I play good online, but the download speeds are horrendous, I usually never even get 1mbs, in the kilobytes, and I have no idea why it's so slow on 4g, or how to make it faster. I'm on an unlimited data plan.

I have the same phone the Moto Z, I go through Verizon for service. I have my phone, my pad and my son has the Google pixel. Now only My phone and tablets hot spots are slow and only on my computer. They both work ok on my tv for Netflix, well it is a bit slow too but nothing like my laptop is. Is there anything I can do. My sons works fine. I don't get it.

Is it always slow or does it slow down after a while? Verizon does have limits on hotspot/tethering, even on the unlimited plans. I have the recently replaced unlimited and mine is 15 GB per line, then speed is slowed/throttled (for tethering). Here's how it shows on my plan:
0.58 GB total data used
0.05 GB hotspot data used
After 15 GB, hotspot speeds are reduced to up to 600 kbps.

edit: I just checked their unlimited plans, the GoUnlimited only has 600 kbps speed and the BeyondUnlimited has the 15GB then down to 600 like I have.

Which plan do you have with MetroPCS?

This is from their site, they do/will limit speed...as most carriers do at some level:

"** Requires capable device. Certain restrictions apply. For data capped plans, full available speed apply to monthly data allotment, then speeds slowed for remainder of payment cycle. For unlimited smartphone LTE data plan, full available speeds apply to 8 GB of hotspot data per payment cycle, then speeds slowed for remainder of payment cycle."
