Mobile Hotspot Widget

Is there a working widget to turn Mobile Hotspot on and off? I've tried just about all of them in the Play Store and can't find one that works. I finally settled on a shortcut that takes you to the Tethering settings menu.

Galaxy S7 Edge
Android 6.0.1
AT&T

Thanks

No. It is an Icon on the home screen. It doesn't turn Hotspot on automatically. It takes you to the place in settings where you can manually turn it on

I mean the pulling down menu like this

I find it easier to just put the Hot Spot button on the top row of the Notifications menu. Easy to do and you don't need any widgets or helper apps

No I don't have that in my notifications drawer. I've tried to figure out how to add it with no luck. I tried editing the settings for what icons are available there but couldn't find one for hotspot.

There are a lot of trigger options, I just chose that one as a quick and easy demo.

Sweet app. Although it seems as though no app can turn my hot spot on. I have tried around ten others besides this one. I get the following error with Macro Droid:

Whenever I select hotspot as the action I get this message:

I don't know much about it but I guess the reason Macro Droid and the other apps I have tried can't turn on the hotspot has to do with the API? I don't even know what that is but maybe that can lead me towards a solution.

Thanks

I never own a single phone that doesn't have a button to turn the Hotspot on/off from the Shortcut menu.

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. Surely there is someone out there with a s7 edge that has had the same issue and found a solution.

This thread was moved to this forum that is dedicated to your phone. This is the best place to find others who are using your phone and get answers specific to it.

Many carriers have disabled the Mobile Data and Wifi Hotspot "Quick Settings" tiles intentionally.
This was especially annoying when I got a Galaxy S8 because I frequently use Hotspot for tablet. A favorite widget of mine for many years was Power Toggles which you will see at top of my homecreen screenshot. It allowed me to one touch anything I wanted to without even having to pull down the quick settings menu. This was great until the recent "Oreo" update, now Power Toggles doesn't work properly; but if I double tap the hotspot icon, it takes me to the actual Mobile Hotspot and Tethering toggle. Being spoiled by quick access previously, my OCD kicks in and I become determined to expend all of my free time trying to resolve this minor first world annoyance:thinking:

I will try to help even though it's April now...

Potential easy fix: Easy Settings - Quick Toggles

In the first screenshot you can see my "Power Toggles" have transparent background. Those are all the items I want single touch control of. Power Toggles doesn't seem to be available in google play store, but I have found an app called "Easy Settings - Quick Toggles" that I plan to test. The second screenshot is the first page of my quick settings tiles which is where the Mobile Data and Wifi Hotspot tiles should be.

THE TECHNICALLY INCLINED SOLUTION:
Check out the thread at XDA that I will provide a link for. The tiles can be restored to the quick settings menu with a bit of technical prowess involving ADB (Android Debug Bridge).
This does not require root access.
I have never had to root any Android I have owned, but I probably will try it with a spare phone this year.

If anyone tries the toggles app, or the XDA/ADB solution, please reply and share results here. Thanks,

:DFIXED!
I finally had time last night to hook phone up to computer using windows 10 and ADB.

The ADB command prompt was accessed by holding shift and right clicking within platform tools folder. Then I selected power shell option. I followed instructions from XDA threads and have Hotspot and Mobile Data tiles again! NOTE: It is just called Hotspot within those settings that I edited, WifiHotspot as mentioned in XDA did NOT work.
