Mobile internet while in standby mode

Crazy C

Lurker
Mobile internet (downloads with browser or Play Store App) always stopps/pauses no matter which settings I make.
I can allow W-LAN while in standby mode or just mobile internet, but ALWAYS mobile internet stopps/pauses regardless of what settings I make...
Any solution for this problem?

Hi. Which device do you have? Have you got any power saving modes turned on as these will restrict background data.

My device is Samsung GALAXY J1,
browser is CM Browser.
I use CM Security.

I most of the time forbid via Android settings all background data in general.
I read the apps have NOT to follow this setting.

The only things which use background data are your apps so by restricting, it would cut off your data as soon as you put the app in the background. A lot of system apps will be set to ignore that setting by default but most of the apps you download won't. I can't guarantee it's the cause but it'd be my first guess. I'm on a Samsung myself but not familiar with yours but there's hopefully a setting to allow individual apps to use background data despite your system settings. On my s8 it's settings, apps, app name (so in in this case CM browser), mobile data, then check allow background data.

It WAS the cause of my problem.

For some time now I wondered why my browser stops loading a web site or is 'waiting for network' while downloading when in the background or when I go into standby mode.
And yes, I can allow/forbid background data for each app individually or for all of them in my Android settings.
I remember it was no problem earlier, but then I began to test some firewalls in combination with the Android settings and then the problem occurred...
