Mobile #'s Only in Text Message Recipients

When I start to type in a name for the recipient of a new text message, I get a laundry list of names that includes e-mail addresses. For some people, with a work and home e-mail saved, I end up getting three listings for one person.

How do I set it so that only mobile numbers appear in the search results?

By the way, I'm not interested in a 3rd party app for text messaging, UNLESS the LED notification issue has been fixed.

There's an option in the contacts app to only display contacts with phone numbers.

Press menu, then scroll down to "contacts to display" and play with the options there.

That may affect the list you get when composing a text message, although I'm not sure as I don't have my phone in front of me ATM!

Why not try a 3rd party messaging app such as Handcent or goSMS? I believe both of these allow for contacts only with phone numbers to display when typing a contact name in a text message.

GoSMS and, from what I have read, Handcent, have an issue where the LED notification light stays on instead of blinking. Seems small, but I found out quickly that it annoyed me with GoSMS. More so than the contacts issue that started this thread.

Interesting, well another option you might want to look at then (another application needed but may solve your problem) is to let LightFlow control your LED notifications and then use GoSMS without its LED option enabled.

Just a thought though! Hope you find a solution to this problem.

Reasonable idea as well, but the bug that causes the issue with GoSMS and the like also affects LightFlow.

Ah alright fair enough. Let me see if I can do some research for you later today to figure that out. Very, very strange.

Sorry that doesn't work for you.
