Help MobileIron MDM App Hogging Memory

PeGonz

Lurker
This may not be a Moto G specific question.

For work email I have been required to use the MobileIron/Mobile@Work App. The app is consuming all the device storage space! Storage use goes up and up daily. In a matter of days the memory used by the App has increased over 1 Gb, this is after retiring, removing and reinstalling the App.

I have it setup so that only 2 weeks or emails are shown and no attachments are downloaded automatically.

1) Anyone has experience with something like this?

2) Anyone can tell me how to find the folders this App is using on the phone? That way I could at least verify what files are being downloaded and taking up the memory.

Thank you

I have the same issue. My HTC One got slower and slower and now I realized that mobile@work occupies 2,1Gb data (!!) - bare in mind that my mails are stored in a separate app.
Have you found any solution to this?

Dublin, unfortunately I still haven't found a solution but it has caused me so much grief that I have learned a few things so far:

1) As you said, it has nothing to do with the size of your inbox. The size of my inbox is less than 1 GB and MobileIron has consumed 2 GB already and keeps going up. (Email+, which is the associated email app, takes only 25MB)
2) I am using MobileIron for company email. This means that for tech support I go through my company's IT Dept. They don't have a clue on what's causing the problem and they tell me that because I'm the only one in the company with this issue MobileIron will not provide service.
3) I have contacted MobileIron through their Facebook page (it's the only way I've found to report bugs) and they told me that they cannot respond to this issue unless my company opens a ticket with them.

Please report your case by writing a message to them using the Inbox on that Facebook page (link below.) The owner of a Samsung phone has also reported the problem.

Here's the complaint by the other user:

4) It appears that only Android 4.4.4 users experience this glitch BUT phone carriers will not roll out Android 5.0 anytime soon.

Sorry for the lengthy response. As you can see, I have been actively trying to get this resolved, mainly because this is literally rendering my phone useless and could force me to buy another phone!!

Please report your case, doing that could prompt MobileIron to release an update of the software fixing this problem.

Thanks!!

PS: I forgot to mention that I also did a Factory-Reset of my phone and reinstalled MobileIron. In 2.5 weeks time memory use grew to 2GB. So don't waste your time doing a reset.
