Monster Miles Davis Trumpet Earphones + Galaxy S3

Hi All,

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3 and have been using a pair of Klipsh X10i earphones with it - despite being designed for Apple products I still had limited functionality (play, pause, skip) on the inline remote. Unfortunately the control has just broken and I need a new pair.

This is unlikely I know, but just wondered if anyone on here had the Monster Miles Davis Trumpet Earphones and had tried them with an android phone and if the controls worked at all?

Cheers

What is your top price budget? And, do you want something similar to x10 sounds characteristics? Also, what kind of music do you listen to?

OK, thanks for clarification! I also assume you are in UK.

I'm not familiar with Monster Miles Davis Trumpet edition, but have done some on-line reading and see that overall people are OK with a lot of the comments referring to its "cool" look and trumpet button controls, while some even suggest it's not very comfortable in your ears because of the extra weight.

Here is what I'm thinking, based on your music requirements - why don't you try UE600vi? Those are only

Thanks for the response twister6, given me a lot to think about there!

Firstly, I agree that with some brands you are definitely paying for the image and I can't help but think that would be the case, to an extent, with the Miles Davis Trumpets - I think I was a little taken with just how good they looked!

As for the X7i's, I'm staying away from Klipsch from now on. My last 2 pairs have been by them and both have broken around the 6 month mark, which I'm not surprised about given the reviews I've read, just figured they'd last longer if treated carefully, not in my case! I really don't get on with the oval tips either, very hard to get a secure fit for me.

I quite like the look of the UE600vi's, although slight concern over the number of reviews I've seen regarding durability. Though for the price they sound like a rather decent pair. Currently plugging straight into my phone or laptop, I'm sure these would be up to the task, but I'm planning on getting a FiiO E17 portable amp soon and am concerned the flaws in these earphones might then be more obvious?

Finally, I really wish there were somewhere here (UK) where I could test earphones but they don't seem to allow it (hygiene reasons), hence the considerable research to do beforehand.

Really appreciate your thoughts and will do some research on those 600vi's.

Cheers,

JP
