International CTIA WIRELESS 2010

I checked out the Exhibitor list and, not surprising, both Verizon and HTC will be represented there (in very close proximity booths). I'm guessing that they will use this US based arena to disperse some much awaited information on the Verizon HTC Incredible and possible future roadmap.

It's no surprise to me that they didnt release any information at the MWC 2010 Conference due to the fact that it's Eurpean-based. GSM....

So, here's to hoping we find out more .....

thanks for the info. def makes sense... but i hope we really don't have to wait til mar 23rd-25th for something concrete...

Yeah me too I'm just looking at this as a worst case scenario. But then again. What do i know. Nothin

That's fine with me, Verizon and the OHA have until summer to come up with the latest and greatest on Android- HTC Desire, incredible, Nexus One, a Xperia X10, Droid 2, whatever. By then, the Droid better still not be the flagship Android phone.

How are HTC phones, I'm a bit hesitant to buy one- it's a Chinese company, kinda doubt their quality control. But they are on a tear recently.

Sergey:

I got a Droid Eris for my wife. Considering that she moved from a Treo 6xx, she's very happy. I've played with the Eris some and it's a dramatic improvement over what she had, but still slower and crankier, (buttons on bottom of screen ofter don't respond to touch, apps sometimes hang), than the iphones I've played with. I'm up for an upgrade now from my Verizon 6800, (HTC Titan), but neither the Droid nor Eris do it for me. The Droid's keyboard is awful. The Eris seems about 2 steps behind both the iphone and the nexus one.

I wrote a complaint to Verizon customer service and they responded promptly. They told me they couldn't comment on when new phones were coming out and then, in response to my saying that maybe I'd cut short the conracts on my 4 lines if they didn't come out with something cool soon, advised without my asking what the termination fees would be!

I can't figure out whether they were being really candid and helpful or were saying, "If you want to go, then here's all it takes and good riddance!"

I'm sure they're getting tired of the complaining.

Well, when everyone says that HTC is much better than Motorola, I always point to the Touch Diamond...

Every company will make a real stinker once in a while. Just make sure you really put it through its paces while you are in your 30 day acceptance period.

I'm nearing the 30 day acceptance period with my Droid Eris and i'll be returning it and deciding on whether to wait for the N1/Incredible or go with the HTC Imagio. I'm an IT Consultant and my life is in Windows, so integration with M$ is (should) be important to me and i just feel like everything i do w/ the droid is a massive workaround..

I need to see the exchange/email integration with 2.1 before i make the final decision. either way, i think whatever phone i buy next out of those 2 will be a placeholder until WinMo 7 comes out or Android grows up...whichever comes first...

The Droid Eris also cannot kep up with me battery wise and i dont feel like dropping another $50 on an extended. Lastly, it's a great toy, but the features i need in a phone first are the basics (email, phone, sms) and the droid Eris just doesnt handle these as well as BBerry/WinMo...

Again, i havent had a WinMo phone at all, and sorta am dreading it, so my first wish is to get the N1 and "make" it work for me because it's just so cool... but my brain is tellin me to get the Imagio because it's the "practical" thing to do...

but what fun is that? heh...

let me ask you a question - b/c you seem to have done this a few times. if i get a phone right now with my annual upgrade and return it in 30 days, will I still get my upgrade status back and would i need to exchange it or just return it and use my old phone again until something better comes along?

thanks for ur help!

I had the same question too, so i called Verizon to make sure. Once you return the phone, you WILL get your upgrade status back. Also, your contract will revert back.

It's basically as if you never bought the phone.

Regarding the Restocking Fee ($35), you do not have to pay it if you go back to your old phone, only if you exchange it for a new phone.

Weird...

lastly, dont send in those Mail In Rebates until you're 100% sure you are keeping the phone.... that gets messy..heh.

thanks for the info - not a bad deal. I would order it online anyway - no rebates needed. 100 discount is instant from verizonwireless.com - i hate mail in rebates!!!!!

March 23rd is right in line with the rumored release of the HTC Incredible on Verizon. I think we have our answer! :)

Don't you just love connecting the dots?

However if you order it online, you have to ship it back. Not sure if that's at your cost or not. Also uncertain of the return policy for online orders. Do you have to make sure they get it back within 30 days?

Er, just cause they're both on the exhibitor list doesn't mean they have any kind of special announcement to make. Their booths could even be at opposite sides of the building.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you're reading a little too deep into this.

Granted, that's still a pretty thin piece of logic, but it's all in fun anyway. :) We'll find out soon enough!

It's nice to see someone who understands the spirit of speculation unlike some people who feel the need to argue about stuff that no one really knows for sure. Then again they are the same kind of people who quote PC world as a viable reference for defending Sprint's awesomeness.

Speculation is fun, if you can't enjoy it, you may as well threaten the members of these forums that you're going to leave... Oops, that's already been done. ;) Forgive me guys, it's Friday and I am chomping at the bit to go have fun this weekend, so I can't resist a bit of mischief now and then.

'Til then, I'll grind the rest of the day out at my soulsucking job while dreaming of LTE.

This is exactly what I did when I switched from the Eris to the Droid. I return the Eris, got all of my money refunded, reactivated my old phone and waited a week.

When I went to get the Droid, the VZW computer indicated I was eligible for upgrade pricing.

I'm curious to know how many times one could get away with this.

Exactly, it's all for speculation purposes. I mean i'm not about to look up the exhibitor floor plan and see exactly where their booths are. I also think that HTC and Verizon are probably at every mobile conference, especially one of the biggest ones of the year.

But, the fact that it falls on the same date as the rumored release of the N1 for Verizon does mean, at the very least, it's solid date/event to look forward to for some concrete information.

Because guess what? If they ARE releasing the N1/Incredible anytime soon, they will NOT miss this opportunity to launch this info. THIS is the platform.

I seriously doubt the incredible will just show up on shelves one day without notice....

I just hope it's available in stores soon thereafter...

as you said..we'll see!
