More Suing.

Who is SurfCast? I Googled them and cant find anything regarding the company. All that comes up is SurfCast vs Microsoft and surfcasting (the water-sport).

The SurfCast website only has the Tiles description as their home page, the patent lawsuit vs Microsoft under "News", and some other nonsense.

I sure hope Microsoft wins against this. This lawsuit upsets me as much as Apple's does. In fact i wouldnt be surprised if Apple asked this so called "SurfCast" to sue MS.

One judge is apparently seeing the light. I don't think twisted semantics is a reason for a lawsuit.
In App Store vs. Appstore court clash, Apple runs into a skeptical judge | Ars Technica

No company can stop general usage. If phone users want to refer to an OS store as an app store, they will, and no lawyer can stop general usage. General usage will only stop if a better term comes along. Years ago - there was stuff referred to as Mickey Mouse - meaning not very good. Disney would have loved to stop the general populace from using the term. It died of its own accord - not a lawsuit.

So far, there hasn't been a better term for Kleenex and Bandaid although Kleenex is slowly being supplanted by tissue.

What else do you call a Band-aid? Mini-bandage? Get real.
If someone wants to come up with a better "nickname" for these things, that's great, but there is no guarantee it will stick.

I'm just pointing out that as far as general speech is concerned - copyright doesn't matter. People will call things they way they see them.

I'm making assumptions but I believe us British use the term plaster!

"I've got a paper cut on my finger, can I get a plaster please"

But your point stands :-) lol just a wee cultural thingy majigor! :-)

Daughter married an Englishman and moved. I'm hearing this now. She has a house full of felines referred to as "moggies" . She was complaining about plasters. The Vulcan had a problem with that.

We had the term "corn plaster" and "mustard plaster"

Its a shame too, because these are reputable big companies and from this latest news, ALL of them cheat and infringe on the other's patents, design, program, etc.

As far as Apple, because of their "unmerciful" relentless suit agains Samsung, I hope the Courts take Apple's attitude and how much leniency they allowed in their own suits into consideration and TAKE every NICKLE Apple won against Samsung and then some, and pay Motorola!

When these big companies start getting HIT for the same schick they sued other companies for doing, hopefully it will curb this type of "malarky"

GAWD i love that word? is it too late to change my profile name to Malarky Monkey?

Apple's Samsung apology includes 'false material'

I read the comments on this. Why should a misbehaving company not be treated like a misbehaving person? It's called ethics, and right now it looks like Apple is not showing it has any.

Apple has gotten as haughty as ENRON. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Looks like Jobs reaching up from HAYALE and still squeezing the industy by the Mountain Oysters.

I swear on the presidency of Stinky Stinky , that i did NOT touch this pic. I got it directg from the net.

Fellow Apple zombies! I present to you the "I-Sue U"

Unless some militant feminists not acquainted with certain usages get their dander up. (Man meaning all of humankind)
Andro is manlike in Greek. Humanoid would have sounded funny, but probably more politically correct. Homonid would have been a no-no.

I think the robot is one of the better advertising logos around lately. Sprint did a good job with some of the commercials for their Android phones last year.

Maybe all the makers should use the little robot for brand and OS recognition. Stick it in the corner of the ad somewhere. "powered by Android"

I agree 100% el Zoobian! I think the world has been turning AND burning long enuff for us HOMOSAPIANS (...some might not like it but we all are! Rofl) to keep creating ways to separate and sue. I second your e-motion that more androids become the focus in ads and products

I nominate FOUR androdians up front: BENDER, BUZZ, DATA and last & certainly not least, the The Lost In Space Robot (cough)....and me, the dynamic duo-powers

You know, I remember for a time, most new commercials were either animated, animals or the pdoduct with no real person.
