I went with the Zenwatch. It's thinner, and the way the band is mounted helps hide the thickness even more, making it look nice and thin instead of like an Oreo cookie strapped to your wrist. I looked at both, just didn't want the thickness of the Moto360. Plus, in my opinion, I think a square screen works so much better for what a smartwatch is for, a round screen just doesn't have the same real estate. Also, and this was a big one for me, the TI CPU in the Moto360 is many years old (same as the CPU in my old Moto X) and not as powerful or efficient as the Snapdragon 400. I know they both work fine, but I think the Zenwatch has more future because of the more modern CPU. Also, the more efficient CPU paired to a slightly bigger battery gives great battery life. Currently at 13% left, after coming off the charger at 6:30 AM, so about 19 hours on. Screen always on, all the normal use, some fitness tracking. Anyways, that's my opinion between the two watches, the same thing I was pondering in early December.
Is there really more "real estate" on the Zen? There is a lot of black empty space around the display. I'd like to know how the visible area of the Zen display relates to the visible area of the 360.
I'm not sure if I really believe it, but according to this comparison review, the Moto 360 display is 39 percent bigger than the ZenWatch's: http://www.gizmag.com/moto-360-vs-asus-zenwatch/34908/Bezzle rim top edge looks very similar for Zen + 360 but............as you say Zen has a lot of black empty space, rough calculation I make visible area only 55%. 360 is right up-to-the edge, the black empty space at bottom is only 6% of total so visible area = 94%, no contest.
