I just bought a Motorola Moto e Smartphone a week ago because it said WIFI/3G. I thought that meant that if there was no WIFI available, I could just flip a switch and connect to the web via 3G. Is that not how it works? I couldn't figure it out in the settings if If you can do it. Any help is appreciated.

That's how it works. Of course you have to have a data plan from your network provider in the first place to access 3G internet, as well as having mobile data turned on.
